We are learning things. And we are former teachers. Education is still part of our work. We do a lot of learning, and a teeny-tiny bit of teaching. Our learning focuses on three major areas so far: (1) emergent learnings, (2) anti-racist / anti-oppressions learnings, and (3) compa-related learnings.

Emergent Learnings
Emergent Learnings refers to our take(s) on learning in general. We’re former teachers, but we are committed to the belief that another school / structure / curriculum / learning / space / system is possible.
Anti-Racist Learnings
We are privileged and white. We are learning, continually, about our unearned white privileges and the intergenerational harms that result from systemic racism. We know with certainly that we will fuck up, but we aim to be at least be more fuckwithable.
Compa-Based Learnings
The “compas” (a.k.a. compañeres) are a group of Latine early childhood educators - both adult teachers and youth who are interested in early childhood education. We have learned a lot as we have worked with them in various ways.

What is shit?
The vulgar term used to describe the excrement expelled from animals. It’s also a good colloquial term for stuff or things - as in , “Let’s do some fun shit today.”
What is SHIT?
Sociocultural, Historical, and Intergenerational Trauma. Centuries of collective, cultural, racist, colonialist, structural, transgenerational traumas - and how they remain potent today.
What is a SHITter?
One who takes and converts the waste from living creatures (often viewed as useless, unpleasant, or of poor quality), because when handled properly it can be repurposed and transformed into something beneficial for the whole ecosystem.
What is fun?
Flamboyant and boisterous action / speech that provides amusement, enjoyment, and permission to indulge in banter, play, playfulness, and whimsy. A whole mood.
What is FUN?
Fucked-Uped-Ness. An offensive expression used to describe the thoroughly damaged current state of affairs which fester from the all-pervasive condition, quality, or state of being surrounded by totally fucked up shit - such as a crowd of people who don’t have a damn clue, systems created and continuously upheld to perpetuate racist bullshit, and white knees on necks that continue to go unchecked.
What is a SHITter of FUN?
One who acknowledges the Fucked-Uped-Ness (FUN) of the Sociocultural, Historical, and Intergenerational Trauma (SHIT) created by systems of domination - while simultaneously trying to spread fun and love.
